Gestalt
Therapy

Gestalt therapy is a client-centered approach to psychotherapy that helps
clients focus on the present and understand what is really happening in their lives right now, rather than what they may perceive to be happening based on past experience.


Gestalt therapy places emphasis on gaining awareness of the present moment and the present context. Through therapy, people learn to discover feelings that may have been suppressed or masked by other feelings and to accept and trust their emotions.

Gestalt is a highly positive and practical integrative therapeutic approach. Gestalt practitioners help people to focus on their immediate thoughts, feelings and behaviour and to better understand the way they relate to others. This increased awareness can help people to find a new perspective, see the bigger picture and start to effect changes. People gain greater self-awareness and a greater ability to live in the present moment.
